Vehicle Accident

10/26/14 – 1:22 a.m.
32nd Ave

Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a two vehicle accident.  JTFD worked to assist one patient who was pinned in the vehicle which was lodged into the side of a building.  Jamestown units worked with the Sherriff’s Department to block the roadway.  JTFD remained on scene until the vehicles were towed from the scene.  First Responders cleared the scene at 4:02 a.m.

Fire Alarm Activation

10/22/14 – 9:31 p.m.
Central Parkway

JTFD was dispatched to a fire alarm activation on Central Parkway.  Firefighters arrived on scene to investigate.  Firefighters reported that nothing was showing.  The alarm company was attempting to reset the alarm and JTFD cleared at 10:00 p.m.

Agricutural Fire

10/18/14 – 11:38 p.m.
40th Ave

Jamestown Firefighters responded to a report of a large barn on fire.  JTFD reported that flames and smoke were seen from 1 mile away.  Zeeland Fire Department was also dispatched to assist with their pumper truck.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the barn fully involved.  JTFD worked for hours to extinguish the fire.  Firefighters cleared the scene at 3:13 a.m.

Odor Investigation

10/17/14 – 11:16 a.m.
Riley St. Middle School

Jamestown Fire Department responded to a call to investigate a smell of sulfur at Riley St. Middle School.  JTFD investigated and did not find the source of the smell.  JTFD cleared at 12:05 p.m.

Fire Alarm Activation

10/14/14 – 11:07 p.m.
16th Ave

Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire alarm activation.  Homeowner was contacted and stated that there is no smoke or flames and it was unknown why the alarm was activated.  Alarm was canceled by the alarm company.  JTFD cleared at 11:12 p.m.

Unknown Vehicle Accident

10/08/2014 – 11:56 a.m.
East Bound M6

JTFD was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the median.  First responders were unable to locate a vehicle but reported to dispatch that they did see vehicle tracks in the median.  JTFD cleared at 12:06 p.m.
