Smoke Investigation

05/12/12 – 10:49am

Jamestown Fire Department responded to the area of Riley St. and 8th Ave. for a smoke investigation.  A 911 caller saw black smoke around a small barn.  First officer on scene investigated the area to find a controlled burn behind that barn.  All units were cleared and returned to stations and Ottawa County Dispatch was informed of the controlled burn in that area.

Possible Structure Fire

05/09/12 – 8:13am

Jamestown Fire Department responded to the area of Jackson St. and Angling Rd. for a possible structure fire.  A 911 caller saw heavy black smoke from the wooded area.  First units on scene investigated the area to find a large controlled burn.  All units were cleared and returned to stations and Ottawa County Dispatch was informed of the controlled burn in that area.

P.I. Motorcycle Accident

05/02/2012 – 8:36pm

Jamestown Township Fire & Rescue Department responded to a personal injury call on Adams St. west of 24th Ave. This was a one motorcycle accident needing medical care for driver and passenger. The passenger was turned over to AMR and taking to hospital.

6″ Gas Line Damaged and Leaking

04/30/12 – 2:16pm

Jamestown Fire responded to a Gas Leak at 40th Ave and Riley St. for a 6″ natural gas line that was hit by a digging excavator. JTFD controlled the traffic and safety of the public due to the amount of gas leaking near homes, businesses and traffic on these roads. DTE Energy was notified and when safe the scene was turned over to them for repair.

Possible Tree Fire

04/21/12 – 6:32am

Jamestown Fire Department responded to the area of 8th Ave and Perry St. for a possible tree on fire, west of the intersection. As officers and firefighters investigated the area no fire was seen or found. All units were cleared and returned to stations.

P.D. Spill Clean Up

2/20/12 – 5:28pm

Jamestown Township Fire & Rescue Department responded to the the intersection of 8th and Byron Road to aid the Ottawa County Sheriff Deputy with traffic and handle the spill clean up of a two car property damage only accident.
